In the Winter time, when the season calms down, sometimes we play as Professionals. We like to brainstorm and get together and collaborate while we can on a more casual basis. This shoot is from Winter 2016. The day was cold and actually started to snow on us, but as we do, we go on with the show. Mittens, hats, and jackets were a must as the flowers actually started to freeze during the shoot. We set up four areas at The Overland in Gardnerville, Nevada to show how an intimate wedding could take place onsite.
A theme we love and often include in our own wardrobe and life is White, Black, Metallic, and Geometric. Against this palette, we, A Floral Affair, chose blossoms of warm reds, oranges, and burgundy to contrast.
The Ceremony was set on the brick patio at the back of the building. Their market lighting added a fun element to the more elegant Arch draped with White Sheer fabric with Greenery set up in front of a set of doors. Their black chairs marked the path for our imaginary Bride to walk. We scraped snow and ice chunks off the Brick to give way to a four season wedding idea.
In doors, we set up a Cake Table with hanging hula hoops and floral accent. A Geometric Fondant Design Cake set center stage surrounded by a mixture of candles, geometric shapes, and Mr. & Mrs. sign. A sparkly sequin linen pulls through the gold throughout the vignette.
In the dining area we set an elongated Banquet table as a head table. A sequin linen set as our base as a black and white stripe runner made way for the lush floral, candles, and geometric shapes to set. We placed a small vase on each of the Reserved Guest's plates, to make them feel a little more fancy.
The Final space we dressed up was the Pub side of the Restaurant. We dressed up a four top table as a Guest Table. Complimentary designs and dishes sat on the table tying back to the Head Table.
